3 BOWL SINGLES TOURNAMENT

ELIGIBILITY: Open to
all Oxnard LBC members. Fourteen players signed up and played three
10-end games.
There was a 7 point cap on each game. 1st Place: Steve Goodmanson 3 W + 18 points. 2nd Place: Mike Newton 3 W + 10 points. 3rd Place: Lenny LaCroix 3 W + 10 points. A three bowl rolloff was held between Mike Newton and Lenny LaCroix to decide the 2nd and 3rd place. Mike won the rolloff. It might be noted that even using total points Mike still won 2nd place Our tournament chairman Jack Bucey put on a great club tournament using seven rinks. From very experienced members to some new members, all took part and enjoyed the games. We were short on markeers with only Dick Gibson and Jerry Beatty signing up for the duty but they kept up each covering more than one rink each. This kept them hopping and they deserve a lot of credit for doing this very important job. Photos by Bob Smith
