The
City of Oxnard sponsored a city-wide event in May for seniors to
participate in any of about 20 different activities. One of these is
lawn bowling and the details are presented below with photos and awards
for winning teams.

Requirements: Bowlers must wear flat shoes (i.e.
no heels) for the games.
The type of game played is called triples; consisting of
three
people per team. Teams were organized with people qualified for
Skip, Vice and Lead positions. The most experienced players play as
Skips. Each team was put together by a blind
draw (i.e.,
random selection). This assures that no team is knowingly put
together with only strong, experienced players.
Eight teams
played two 10-end
