Norm Palladino passed away peacefully at his home in Oxnard on April 3, 2009.  He was born July 11, 1932 in Syracuse, New York.  He entered the U.S. Naval Academy as a member of the 24^th Company of the class of 1955.  Upon graduation he was commissioned a 2^nd Lt in the U.S. Air Force.  While stationed at Stewart AFB he met his future wife, Mary (Pinky) Pratt They were married on August 24, 1957.  In 1962 Norm graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology with a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.  In 1965 he resigned from the Air Force. 

After his military service Norm became busy in the recreational vehicle industry.  He became V.P. of Finance and Administration for R.V. Resorts operating Yogi Bear Jellystone Campgrounds in Calif.  Later he joined Trailer Life publishing Company as executive director of the GoodSam Parks program.

Norn reentered the defense industry in 1980 working for Atlantic Research Company where he was program Manager for stealth cruise missile booster rockets.

Norm and Pinky retired to Oxnard in 1998 to enjoy our great weather and to be near their children, three boys, one girl and nine grandchildren. On Sept. 2, 2002 they joined the Oxnard-Joslyn Lawn Bowls Club.  Norm was very active in the club serving as a Board Member, club secretary, membership chairman as well as publishing the club newsletter and being webmaster for our club web site.  Norm with his extensive knowledge of computers was called upon by many of the members for help with computer problems.  He was always ready to help and give of his time.  He was about the nicest guy you would ever want to know.  Our condolences go out to Pinky.

On July 12, 2009 a memorial was hosted by Pinky and family at the Oxnard - Joslyn Lawn Bowls club to honor Norm..  At the sign in table were pictures of Norm in uniform and as a younger man.
