Diane Edging was born in
Loagansport, IN on January 15, 1940. She passed away April 3,
2020 after a brief illness. She had her best buddy, Lewis (her 18
year old cat with her during trhis time). Diane had lived at the
Bonaventure Retirement Community for the past 18 months and immensely
enjoyed the socialization and activities offered. Her work
history was varied even though in her youth she aspired to a career
with a philharmonic orchestra (she played the clarinet) , as an adult
she worked with the Children's Unit at Camarillo Hospital, owned and
operated a group home for adults, and was a technologist in the lab at
the Ventura County Hospital. Her passions through life were
music, animals, games, cooking and travel.
Diane had a strong passion for animals.. she supported many charities
involved with animal protectiion, and adoped a number of feral and
homeless pets to share her home. She loved games- from
intellectually challenging Mensa puzzles to group games like lawn
bowling, golf and bridge and at the Bonaventure, she enjoyed bocce
ball, bingo and casino trips.
Diane was a member of the Oxnard Joslyn Lawn Bowls Club from September
19, 1998 to 2008. She developed into a good bowler and served on
the Board of Directore as Vice president for sevral years. She
was a generous and unique friend, and she will be missed.
