 Bert was born in Brooklyn, New York and graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College. Durning his working life he lived in New York, Indianapolis, St Louis and on to Los Angeles. He spent his career as a salesman in ladies apparel. Bert was married three times and had two boys by his second wife. In 1981 he retired and moved to Ventura. He moved to Oxnard in 1990 and did some part time sales in children's books offered by Readers digest. Bert married Janet, his third wife in September, 1991. Bert discovered lawn bowling and in 2002 joined the Oxnard-Joslyn Lawn Bowls Club. He was very active in the club and served on the Board as Treasurer for several years and as the President. He loved the game and was there often. Bert droppped out of bowling activity in 2010 due to failing health. The following are pictures of Bert with friends.   |
